Beaded bracelet

Designed by: Liza

This bracelet is made of 2 mm beads. I found that 37 beads on each of the 8 warps will result in a 13 cm braid. The end caps and the catch total 4.5 cm so the total length of this bracelet is 17.5 cm which should fit slim to normal sized women.

I used very thin mercerized cotton yarn, but you can use superlon in stead. In fact the best choice probably is superlon if you use gems or crystals for the braid because they are so tough they can “eat through” a cotton string. Superlon is tougher. I used cotton strings because I used glass beads for the bracelet.

Tip: Start out with 4 one metre strands, and put 74 beads on each. Slide half the beads (37) to the other end of the string, and cut it in half. In other words: prepare 2 strands at a time. Start and end the braid with a little piece without beads. These pieces can then be glued into the end caps.
